BVFD purchases Property Next Door
In January, the fire house
purchased the property next door including the house, small shack, and field
behind the buildings. Plans for the property include a spring cleanup, training
and drills, community activities, and the possible construction of a new fire
house in the distant future. Members are very excited about the new addition to
fire house, welcoming the extra space to expand.
BVFD Celebrates 60 Years of Service
On January 17, 2009 the
Burtonsville Volunteer Fire Department celebrated its 60th anniversary at
Borealis restaurant. Dinner started at 7pm followed by a speech by both Chief
John Gross and Assistant Chief Larry Intelisano. Service pins,
awards,anniversary sweaters, and line offices were handed out and after all the
formalities, door prizes such as First Aid Kits, gift cetificates, tools, car
products, ect. were given to lucky winners. Fire personel from three
counties were in attendance.
